Magnets

by jbirdmarketing | Apr 24, 2023

You’ll be amazed when you find out what these magnets were named after. 🤯🧲 First, did you know, in Ancient Greece a rock called lodestone was considered magic because it would pull or attract different materials? 🔮 We now know a lot more about magnetism, but it can still seem magical.

🚨 Big news from Muse Knoxville! We just announ 🚨 Big news from Muse Knoxville!

We just announced plans for a proposed expansion into the historic Jacob Building at Chilhowee Park! We were thrilled to be joined by @mayorkincannon, Councilwoman Gwen McKenzie, Jim and Michell Clayton, and so many incredible community supporters for this exciting moment.

This vision is possible thanks to strong donor support, including a generous initial gift from the Boyd Foundation and a transformational gift of $25 million from the Clayton Family Foundation, along with a potential new lease opportunity from the City of Knoxville. The plan would allow Muse to grow from 10,000 to nearly 57,000 square feet, making room for more hands-on STEAM learning than ever before.

The expanded museum would feature immersive exhibits that spark curiosity across subjects like engineering, energy, health, space science, transportation, and more — all designed to inspire children and families through the power of play.

In the months ahead, we’ll invite educators, families, partners, and funders to help turn this vision into reality. Together, we can build a one-of-a-kind science museum for all ages that belongs to Knoxville and empowers the next generation of innovators.

We’re building a world-class science museum — together. 💙
